Cosmetic Dentistry

Designed to enhance the appearance of your teeth

Cosmetic Dentistry refers to a range of procedures that are designed to enhance the appearance of your teeth and smile and in some cases may also provide restorative benefits.

Cosmetic Treatments

  • Facial Aesthetics – Injections of muscle relaxant are available at expatdental® in both Singapore clinics. Our experienced dentists use muscle relaxants like botulinum for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes, especially in the treatment of clenching and grinding.
  • Porcelain Veneers – Porcelain Veneers are thin layers of synthetic material that cover the front of the teeth and are designed to improve the appearance of your teeth. Veneers are thin porcelain shells that are custom fitted to improve the color, position, and shape of your teeth. This minimally invasive procedure can truly alter the look of your smile, giving you straighter, whiter teeth while conserving tooth structure, requiring little or no drilling. The first step is a consultation with your dentist to determine the look and feel you wish to achieve. Impressions and photos are taken and an aesthetic mockup of the final product is created on models to ensure you get exactly the result you want. Upon your approval of the design, the teeth are prepared for the final restorations. Using the highest quality porcelain and only the best international master ceramists, we provide you with a truly exceptional result. Whether you just want to perfect your already beautiful smile, or you’re seeking a complete smile transformation, you will leave happy and excited to show off the smile you’ve always wanted.
  • Whitening – In-chair Whitening is ideal for anyone wanting faster results for whiter teeth. In this process, a protective barrier is applied to your gums to protect the soft tissue. A special light-activated gel is then applied to your teeth and a special light is used to enhance the action of the agent, making your teeth whiter and brighter. As a final step, we take impressions of your teeth to create custom trays for at-home touch-ups, and give you instructions for keeping your smile bright.
  • Take Home Whitening – At-home whitening is not as fast as In-chair whitening but the desired results can be achieved albeit over a longer time period. Our dentist or hygienists will make a mold of your teeth and produce ‘custom trays’. We also provide tubes of whitening gel and instructions on how to use the custom trays for optimal effects of whitening agents.

FAQs

Whitening products used at expatdental® are safe for your teeth because they have been professionally formulated to be effective and safe. In-chair whitening is closely supervised by our dentists and hygienists. Our take home products are produced for your particular case. You should not try to whiten your teeth with any products not specifically sold for that purpose. You should not follow advice about whitening products often shown on social media platforms and viral videos. These can damage your teeth.

Depending on your gum sensitivity you may feel some slight discomfort from the whitening gel, however our staff will supervise the procedure and help with any discomfort.

Veneers are a permanent treatment that cannot be reversed. Sometimes as part of the process, your teeth may need to be filed down slightly so the veneer can fit in seamlessly. This is a long term commitment, and once it is done it is permanent.

Thanks to digital technology, we will work with you to create a digital representation of what your dream smile will look like. Once that is decided a mock up set of teeth is made, which we call the ‘trial smile’. These are wearable and you will be able to try them out before any permanent treatments are performed.

There are two types of veneers: porcelain veneers and composite veneers. While porcelain veneers are made from porcelain, composite veneers are made from engineered resin. Porcelain veneers last 10 to 15 years, while composite veneers last five to seven years.

Composite veneers are typically less expensive than porcelain veneers initially, but because porcelain veneers last longer, they are often more cost-effective in the long run. We recommend porcelain veneers.

At your consultation a tailored treatment plan will be created specifically for your needs with associated pricing. We also offer payments plans.
