What is a Smile Transformation?

A smile transformation is a personalised journey to improve the appearance, comfort, and balance of your smile. It’s not just about how your teeth look — it’s also about how they function and how you feel when you share your smile.

At expatdental®, we offer different treatments to match your goals, whether that’s veneers, whitening, aligners, or other restorative care. Veneers are a popular choice to address discolouration, small gaps, or chipped teeth, helping you achieve a natural-looking smile you feel good about every day.

Have questions? Our team is here to guide you.

The Smile Transformation Approach

At expatdental®, we take a holistic and personalised approach to transforming your smile. Using digital technology, we assess your unique dental structure and facial features to craft a smile that truly complements you.

The process includes comprehensive planning, precision diagnostics, and a “trial smile” phase, allowing you to preview and adjust your new look before committing to treatment. From veneers to aligners and whitening, we offer tailored solutions that prioritise aesthetics, function, and your individual preferences.

It’s not just about helping to enhance your smile—it’s about  helping to boost your confidence and helping you create a natural look you’ll love to share.

How It Works
Smile Transformation process

1. Smile consultation & data gathering

Our team will talk about your concerns and expectations. After we understand your goals, we'll get a baseline of your teeth and facial form by taking x-rays, digital 3D scans, photographs and videos.

2. Digitally Designed Smile

Using the data we compiled, we'll create a digitally designed smile that aims to reflect what you want but also considers the established relationship between your speech, teeth, lips and smile. This is when we can revisit and adjust your design.

3. Treatment plan

We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Our team will map out the various ways you can get the smile that you want, while also taking into consideration your budget and how quickly you want the transformation.

4. Trial smile / smile prototype

Once we agree on a design, we create a "trial smile" so you can see exactly what your new smile will look like. You can even wear your trial smile home so you can get the opinion of your family and friends.

Pricing FAQs

Your smile transformation is a personal journey, and we’re here to make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way. Here are three reasons people trust us with their smile goals:

  • Modern technology & quality materials — We use trusted dental technology and carefully selected materials to help your smile look natural and last as long as possible.

  • You’re at the centre — We take time to listen and understand what you want to achieve. Your feedback and comfort guide our planning from start to finish.

  • Clear plan & pricing — We believe in open conversations about treatment and costs. You’ll always know what to expect, with no surprises along the way.

There’s no fixed price for a Smile Transformation because every plan is customised for your needs.

Your initial consultation is complimentary — it’s a chance for us to understand your goals and answer your questions. If you choose to move forward, the next step is your Smile Design and Smile Trial appointment, which has a fee of $600. This amount is credited towards your final treatment cost if you decide to proceed.

Your treatment plan will be completely personalised to your goals, budget and lifestyle. Payment plans are also available for certain treatments to help make your smile journey as smooth as possible.

While it’s not possible to guarantee outcomes with the human body, we do stand by the quality of our work and materials.

We’re committed to your long-term satisfaction and provide a service promise and material warranty to give you added peace of mind. You can read the full details here.

If you ever have concerns, our team is always here to help.

Process FAQs

We are firm believers that dentistry shouldn’t hurt. That’s why we have a complimentary comfort menu to make sure you have everything you need during your visit. If for any reason you do feel any pain or discomfort, you can inform our team and they will provide options to help make your experience more comfortable.

Your treatment plan will be tailored to your unique smile, and how much time and budget you’d like to invest. A Smile Transformation can include different steps, but most people only need a few to see meaningful results.

Some treatments that may be recommended include:

  • Orthodontics — Braces or aligners to straighten teeth.

  • Crowns — Custom caps that protect and strengthen damaged teeth.

  • Extractions — Removing teeth that can’t be restored.

  • Implants — Long-term replacement for missing teeth.

  • Porcelain veneers — Thin covers that improve the shape and colour of teeth.

  • Composite veneers — A more conservative option using tooth-coloured resin to quickly enhance shape and colour.
  • Whitening — Lightening the natural shade of your teeth.

  • Periodontal care — Keeping gums healthy as the foundation for your new smile.

  • Tooth contouring — Gently reshaping teeth for a more even look.

Our team will explain which options suit you best and answer any questions you may have along the way.

That’s exactly why we offer a trial smile. With smile design, you’ll be able to preview and discuss how your new smile could look before any final treatment begins.

If there’s anything you’d like to change, we can adjust the design and explore different options until you feel comfortable and confident with the plan. Careful planning and open communication help ensure your final result aligns with what you really want.

We work with carefully selected lab partners based both in Singapore and internationally, chosen according to each patient’s specific case. This ensures your restorations are crafted with precision and using materials we trust for strength, durability, and a natural appearance.

Having trusted partners locally and abroad also means faster turnaround times and smoother adjustments when needed.

For materials, we typically use:

  • Orthodontics — Invisalign® clear aligners, ceramic, lingual, and metal braces.

  • Crowns — High-quality zirconia.

  • Implants — Titanium implants with zirconia crowns.

  • Veneers — Porcelain or composite, depending on your treatment plan.

  • Whitening — Professional systems such as Zoom!

If you’d like to know more about the materials or labs used for your treatment, just ask — we’re always happy to explain.

It depends on what you’d like to achieve and whether more complex steps, like implants, are involved.

For many patients, if no implants are needed and you’re happy with your smile design, a makeover can often be completed within 2–6 weeks.

If implants are part of your plan, the healing and integration period usually means the whole process may take 8–12 months before final steps can be completed.

Your dentist will explain your expected timeline in detail, so you know what to expect at every stage.

To plan your smile transformation, we gather plenty of detailed information — including photos, videos, and digital scans — using dental technology.

Some of the tools we may use include:

  • Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) — for precise 3D images.

  • 3Shape Intraoral Scanner — for accurate digital impressions.

  • 3D printer — to create trial models for your treatment planning.

All of this helps us design your new smile with accuracy and confidence.

Aftercare FAQs

How long your smile transformation lasts depends on the treatments you choose and how well you care for your teeth and gums.

Porcelain veneers can typically last 10–15 years or even longer with excellent oral hygiene and regular check-ups. Composite veneers generally last around 5–7 years, though they may need touch-ups or replacement sooner.

Good daily care and routine visits help keep your smile looking its best for as long as possible.

Looking after your smile transformation is very similar to caring for your natural teeth. Brush and floss daily, visit your dentist regularly, and avoid biting hard objects like ice or pens.

During treatment, you may need to be a little more mindful of your eating habits, but once everything is complete, most patients eat and live as normal — just with a bit more care to keep your smile looking its best for years to come.

Our dentist will outline all the possible situations that may happen in your unique situation. Generally, most patients are fine as long as they maintain good hygiene and continue their routine dental care. We will also have a review after your procedure to address any immediate concerns, and can always set up another appointment if any discomfort arises.
